In your heart love for a significant other
Has lacked existence,
But in my life I find it hard to
Have resistance,
So many things you grow to appreciate,
Have and share with each other,
Memories, stories both told and
Said aloud,
All thoughts together smothered,
You miss me,
Yet you separate between us distance,
You hold me,
Yet push away thoughts of becoming
One of my everlasting arms,
How can one instill love
If another shields his heart away,
I guess time will tell
Whether this is to stay
Or simply
Be swept astray
