The True American History
Your words captured my heart at a magnitude
I can't quite explain
Your pain became my pain
Your struggles became my motivation
How can a history so strong be ignored for so long?
I'll tell you why
THEY were AFRAID of our potential
THEY knew the greatest we would exhibit if we ever
received the gift of education so THEY struggled to
keep us from attaining it
THEY were INTIMATED by our beauty for
only we could age so gracefully
THEY were ASHAMED to admit their false claims
about our inferiority so they hid behind lies
to justify their empty conclusions
BLACKNESS is the essence of true beauty
The FOUNDATION of struggle
The EPITOME of strength
For only the black race could withstand the trials
and tribulations of our past and still come out on TOP.
