Who touches a woman

wathint' abafazi, wathint' imbokodo
who touches a woman, touches a rock
with this yell thousands of bold women
marched against the curses 'pasjeswet'
today, the same yell brakes anew the
silence against domestic violance and
the curse of hiv-aids
wathint' abafazi, wathint' imbokodo
and rock they were and rock they stay
these mothers and daughters of Africa
who dance at the funeral of a child
who sing to forget the voice of hunger
who laugh because tears are as
precious as cut diamonds
who welcome you with open arms
and strongly keep on fighting the
daily struggle of hope for a
better future to come
for they are the backbone, they are the rock
wathint' abafazi, wathint' imbokodo
